Since 1970, OCYSF has given more than 165 scholarships to college-bound scholar-athletes who have excelled in academics, athletics, citizenship, and community service. As we review the
applications for our awards each year, we are constantly amazed by the depth and quality of the accomplishments of the young men and women who will surely be future leaders in our community.
Usually they think that OCYSF is doing the giving when they receive a scholarship. In reality, they are giving us a good feeling about tomorrow.

Over 40 young student athletes have received the
Orange County Youth Sports Foundation's prestigious Jim Valentine Courage Award to assist them in pursuing their education. These students had suffered serious, and in some cases, catastrophic injuries or illnesses.
As special as
the award has become to OCYSF, even more special has been the opportunity to monitor the heroic efforts of our winners as they overcome or adapt to their misfortunes. Our Courage Award winners, indeed, have been our “Most Inspirational Players.”
